Used for charging other crystals, satin spar's ever-so-slightly shimmery nature is hypnotic when captured in the sun.  Satin spar doesn't need cleansing, and is thought to help cleanse the aura.  Selenite/satin spar is doesn't like too much water, so try not to get it too wet.

Most "selenite" products on the market are actually a different formation of gypsum, called satin spar - true selenite forms in plates and is clear, whereas satin spar is more 'fibrous' looking and has an optic effect. Both are forms of gypsum, and have the same metaphysical properties.
