Everything is energy.

Did you know, every cell in your body is constantly vibrating? This vibration makes up your energetic field, which affects your moods, emotions, actions, manifestations... the list goes on. So why should you raise your vibration?

Your frequency attracts other things/people/situations that are vibrating at the same frequency to you. You know those days (or weeks) when you're feeling low, off, perhaps even in a bit of a slump? This may be a sign that you're in a state of low vibration, meaning that your cells are vibrating slowly. On the flipside, when you're feeling things like joy, high levels of energy, motivation and excitement, these are signs that you're in a state of high vibration

No matter what frequency you're vibrating at, you're constantly attracting other things that match your vibration - whether you realise it or not! So if you want to be attracting high vibrational things (think: abundance, opportunity, love, friendship - all the good stuff!), you need to be living and acting in ways that keep your energetic vibration high.

Is It Ok For My Vibration To Fluctuate?

I don't want anyone to start panicking that if they have a bad day, or even a bad week that bad things will start happening to them. No one is in a high vibration state all the time. That's just not how life works!

However, I'm sure most people can relate to those days where you start the day off on the wrong side of the bed, and then things just seem to snowball from there. It doesn't always happen that quickly, but sometimes it does - so it's super important to be aware of your energy and work through any energetic slumps.

(just btw... pretending to be happy and just ignoring the bad feels or pushing them down won't work, soz. that'll just open a whole other can of worms)

So yes, your vibration will fluctuate, and it's ok for this to happen from time to time; but when you notice it dipping, it's time to take action to raise your vibe.

Can I Raise My Vibration When I'm Feeling Low?

Yes you are always in control of your vibration. When I talk about raising your vibration, I don't mean never allowing yourself to feel sadness, anger, or any other "negative" feelings. If you're going through something awful like grief, then of course you'll feel a range of emotions, and these negative emotions are signs of a lower vibration. But what's important to process these emotions and move into a state of higher vibration is to acknowledge and honour these emotions, understand that they are temporary (and often opportunities for growth), and accept them as a part of life while still holding an overarching feeling of love for yourself.

The point is not to never let yourself get into a state of low vibration. It's to learn:

1. how to recognise when you're in a low vibrational state

2. how to stop yourself entering a downward spiral or getting "stuck" in a low vibration

3. how to raise your vibration back up again.

Is It Good To Be In A Low Vibration?

I have yet to meet a person who truly enjoys experiencing the "negative" emotions that come with a low vibration - although I suppose it does sometimes appear that people enjoy being grumpy! However life works on a concept of balance; you have to take the bad with the good, and you have to experience the dark to appreciate the light. So while people (generally) want to be in a high vibration state as much as possible, growth often happens when we've been in a low vibrational state.

That's not to say you can't meet challenges in a high vibrational state - you absolutely can - I'm just saying that there can be good found in adversity. Even if it's just to show you what you don't want so that you can better define what you do want.

So, let's get started...

How To Raise Your Vibration

Here's the great news: There are so many practical things you can do to raise your vibration, and you can do them as often as you need or want to!

Practice Gratitude

Actively practising gratitude is one of the best things you can do for yourself. By telling yourself and the Universe (or whatever higher power you resonate with) what you LOVE about yourself and your life, you're affirming what you want more of. The Universe is always waiting to provide for you, so make sure you're telling it what you want!

 Breathe

This seems like an easy one, but actually, when we're feeling low, stressed or anxious, many of us start taking shallow breaths, rather than slow, deep, nourishing breaths. This helps tell our nervous system to calm down, and can alleviate feelings of stress, anxiety, anger and fear (all low vibration emotions).

Immerse Yourself In Nature

Not only does getting out in nature help you to slow down and step away from the busyness and stress of modern life, you're also tuning yourself into the Earth's natural, pure frequency. This is also a wonderful place to meditate, calming your mind and improving your mood and outlook.

Unplug

This is probably less of a case of raising your vibration, and more a case of removing something that lowers your vibration - but only if you notice that it's negatively impacting you. If you find yourself getting down after scrolling social media, spending too much time on your phone or computer, or watching the news, actively unplugging and removing your exposure to these things will help you keep your vibration high.

Laugh

It's now widely understood that laughter has a whole load of physical and mental benefits, and that if you're feeling low, forcing yourself to laugh can help lift your mood.  So when you feel like your vibe has dipped a bit, pull out those cat videos (or my new favourite song about corn), and get your giggle on.  And lets be honest... it just feels good to laugh, right?

Clean + Declutter

Whether you're someone who functions better in organised chaos or a clinically clean environment, we can all benefit from a bit of a clean up and declutter from time to time. You don't have to go full Marie Kondo if that's too much of a commitment, but clear off the surfaces in your main spaces, open windows for fresh air, vacuum up the dust and chuck out any obvious rubbish. Clear environment = clear mind, and transversely, if you have a load of unneeded and unuseful mess in your space, it's likely that it's bringing your vibration down.

Hydrate + Nourish

One of my parenting philosophies is "if in doubt, just add water" - meaning, if the kids are getting antsy or grouchy, expose them to water somehow, whether it's via a drink of water, a bath or shower, a swim, or a run around in the rain. There are few problems that water can't fix (at least temporarily)! This is the case for us adults (or souls pretending to be adults) as well. Dehydration is such an encompassing issue, causing everything from tiredness to dry, itchy skin to headaches. The same goes for nourishing food - hanger is a real thing, and it's definitely a low vibe state!

Movement

When you're in a slump, the last thing you probably feel like doing is exercising or moving. However, moving your body is such a helpful and fast way to bring your vibration back up. If you don't feel quite up to anything super active, try gently stretching your body (here's my favourite 10 minute morning yoga video). You'll feel all the better for it - the hardest part is always getting started!

Spend Time With Loved Ones

Surrounding yourself with people who love and support you, and always leave you feeling valued, safe and happy is such an important way to lift your vibration. Their positive energy will rub off on you, and you'll in turn be able to do the same for them!

While unfortunately we can't always avoid negative people completely, try and limit your interaction with anyone who leaves you feeling *off* - ie. those who complain, judge, criticise, expect too much from you, don't respect your boundaries, etc.

Use Your Crystals

And of course, one of my favourite ways to raise your vibration is with crystals. Crystals each hold their own unique frequencies and are such incredible tools to use to attune yourself with. You can meditate with them, wear them, clean them, adorn your home with them, put them in candles or sprays used to lift the energy in your space... the applications are vast.
